This is the fake message I got on myspace.com:

Hi 🙂 Just so you know, this account doesn’t belong to me…I’m borrowing a friend’s. I’m not to smart about computers, so I haven’t set up my own account. But my friend has been so lucky on here I just had to try it out! Your profile really stood out, so I decided to say hi. If I seem like your kind of girl at all, maybe you could take a chance and email me at kristen_jules552 at yahoo. Another friend said she would show me how to email pics, so I can send some of those along, too…

So I sent the message:

Doesn’t that sound odd? No details like “I’m in Portland” or “I like the Trailblazers” or anything. Googling for the username “natkat224” gave me one hit on the fark.com web site where, if you page down, you’ll see an EXACT copy of the email!

So, for those of you who said I should email her, thanks a boatload! 🙂

  1. The scam lives on. She is now Chritina Padilla living in Charleston. Your blog was helpful. I was tipped by her exhuberance, which although flattering bore no relation to my profile. Her email just smelled fishy. I’m not so sure it’s phishy. They may just be scamming to get people to sign up for the Adult Verification Service. $20 each from a million suckers is a lot of money.

  5. I got it just recently in Greenville SC under the name of Kristen Poole, with an email addy of pooleofhearts@yahoo. I never gave a CC #, but I did write back and I’m ashamed to say I was falling for it at first, since I’m a lonely single with no prospects in sight.

  10. got fooled by this one, but was suspicious from the start. its kinda why i have a bull$hit email account. -no damn way im gonna use a credit card for nuthin’- only on legit weapons sites for my hardware. gave up some unimportant info on myself, would never volunteer “real” info to a stranger. personal shit isnt important decided to do some research now that i have the time. found this, ok the first thing i thought turned out to be true- trust no one and buy more guns, well when assassination turns legal, i know who’s a good candidate

  11. Well, they got me too. In my more desperate days this probably would have made me sad. I feel bad for any lonely guys out there who fell for this. But don’t let these hos get ya down er something. I find this intriguing and will probably check back one day to see if anybody gets caught.

    What a bunch of fuckers. If I see this kristen in my grocery store I will smack the shit out of her (well I’d like to but I’m a pretty nonviolent person). Like I would pay for a few lame pictures in the first place.

  12. I got the same email after my account was up for only 2days. I got the whole song and dance about using her friends account and all. So I said it can’t hurt. What got me paranoid was the talk about “sex” in the initial email. I was like why would you talk about sex with some one you don’t even know. Then came the 20’s in the second email. Its the same exact as everyone before except for the name of the girl. check it out

  15. I got the same msg on My Space and I was suspicious from the beginning. But not wanting to be rude, I e-mailed her at the address provided. I knew it was a scam as soon as I saw the Adult Bureau crap at the bottom of the site. Besides that, the ‘friend’s’ My Space account had last been used on 3 Feb, but ‘Kristen’ sent her msg from that account on the 5th. Hummmm? How do you manage to do that? Anyway just a load of crap to get your CC info.

  18. I am another victim, ALL OF YOU SHOULD REMEMBER TO CONTACT MYSPACE TO GET THE OFFENDING ACCOUNT DELETED.

    Click Contact Myspace on the bottom and find your way to reporting accounts. Set to scam and fire off an e-mail with the basics of the scam message and the URL of the offending account. Then sit back because you’ve done your civic duty.

  33. I also got this mail…on my husband account. we checkid it out,. knew it was a scam…here’s where it gets interesting. I’m a bank teller in PHX. This girl (her rREAL NAME actually IS Kristen ) banks with us (as does her family)…I nealry peed myself when I say that SAME GIRL who sent my husband this crappy porno spam at my teller window! And, to make matter worse, she is barely 17. Part of me wanted SOOOO badly to rip her a new one, but I can see she’s just a dumb kid trying to make money.   35. THE SCAMMER ATTEMPTS TO STEAL YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!! I know this because credit card transactions are required by the FCC to first send the number (encrypted) to a bank’s network, the bank automatically verifies that the number is real and then ok’s the website. This site, however, does not use any technology (such as SSL) to do this. They are using the credit card numbers so that they can use YOUR credit card for themselves. There is probably some teenage idiot behind this and I guaruntee, he/ she is going to be busted real soon. I am reporting this to the FCC immediately, as should all of you. This is a very serious felony.
    Notice that you don’t have to enter a valid credit card number to acces the site… that’s the proof that the transaction I was talking about never takes place. It simply records your CC#!!!!

If anyone is so sad and pathetic as to need to get a piece of ass this way, then i think they get what they paid for. Oh my bad, its FREE.   40. Hey, a little research goes a long way. I knew this smelled funny! Originally I thought it was my girl playing a joke on me, so I played along. She had said something to me regarding an other girl who had caugh her boyfriend cheating using the same method. I figured when she wanted to meet I would turn the joke on her! So, I pretended to give my email and such. Unfortunately it is a scam and there will be no such fun. There is no way I would ever give a credicard number over the internet to somone I don’t know! I’m not that gullible. But, anyway, it seems that this isn’t my girlfriend having some fun and it is in fact a hurtful scam. Thanks for the heads up guys. Time to get back at them.
