This is the fake message I got on myspace.com:

Subject: Hello!
Hi 🙂 Just so you know, this account doesn’t belong to me…I’m borrowing a friend’s. I’m not to smart about computers, so I haven’t set up my own account. But my friend has been so lucky on here I just had to try it out! Your profile really stood out, so I decided to say hi. If I seem like your kind of girl at all, maybe you could take a chance and email me at kristen_jules552 at yahoo. Another friend said she would show me how to email pics, so I can send some of those along, too…

I’ll be looking forward to hearing from you:)

So I sent the message:

And I got the reply:

Doesn’t that sound odd? No details like “I’m in Portland” or “I like the Trailblazers” or anything. Googling for the username “natkat224” gave me one hit on the fark.com web site where, if you page down, you’ll see an EXACT copy of the email!

So, for those of you who said I should email her, thanks a boatload! 🙂

  1. Well aren’t I the fool. LOL. I have to admit that it was good enough to get me to send a reply, then I started looking again and had to google to find out what was really going on. I certainly became suspicious when I was sitting there reading the terms and conditions of the adult verification link, which any normal person wouldn’t have on their practice home made web page. Oh well. Thanks to all on this blog for the links to the new pics for my collection though. hehehe. Not a total loss of my time.

    issue here? I got skeptical with all these normal pics and then this scandolous pic. Checked out the phone number on the Coldwell Banker thing too. People are lame. Truly lame.

  4. i got the same message too. so i email her back, basically asking what the fuck? and i get this generic reply, a long one too (for some one who has no time, being at work), so i link to her site, and quickly got the hell out of there!

  6. The thing that caught me was I was doing a search for a friend and came across her picture. The next day I got the e-mail from her but she said she did not have a myspace account. I went through a search and found her again. The fake project site caught my attention and when I did a search, I found this site. Same thing. Almost caught me until now.

  7. Yeah, this got me too. I am just glad I did a bit of research. Kriskat225 is the latest IM on this scam, if you come across this… just block and ignore. Seems like a harmless scam though. At least there is no virus attached to it, just a real dumb attempt to get you sign onto an adult/porn thing.
    Do they think we are stupid? Ashme though, that chick is so f’n hott!

  12. I got the same thing as all the rest of you. Except the one I got was a bitch named Nicole Berry. It was the same exact thing as all the rest of ya and I posted a memo at my spaces bulletin board and got a reply in like12 hours. It’s a scam for your credit card number. Apparently some jackass gave the number and his card was maxed out in like 3 days with purchases from Panama all the way to India…Do what I do fellas, get your porn at a adult shop. Keep that credit card in your wallet with that 10 yr old condom.

    The rest of the blurb is the same except they personalized somewhat to connect it to the friend finder site. Thought this was for real cuz I actually was smiling in my profile picture. Really cute to me equated to average, okay… then bam…

    Had me until I saw the website and the verification crap at the bottom of the page. Like everyone else, I looked up Coldwell Bankers, the equivalent in Quebec is “La Capitale” and why would a hot looking babe want me?!

    I cought it right away, no real person writes a letter like that, and reading it carefully you can tell that it is from someone out of the states as the wording is slightly off the norm for the average american girl.

  20. I got this same scam as well, and sent her a threatening letter, using the info you guys put together. I was wondering what exactly we can DO about it to track this scam down to an individual. If you follow the money, won’t it lead you to a source at some point? Are the cops smart enough to follow a money trail and bust the person responsible for this?

  21. I am amazed after reading this, how many different myspace pages there are. No matter where you live, the scam seems to generate a page in your area, always with a different girl. Here’s the one I was sent, from Bonita Springs FL:

    They all have something in common, though. Only one picture, and always a VERY young teen girl, which is a stark contrast to the porn-star 25-30 year olds we’re getting on the linked sites. I’m guessing these pictures were just stolen from personal websites, and thrown up on myspace. These accounts were probably auto-generated with random text and pictures for each city in the country. This scam is very elaborate, it’s going to be nearly impossible to get to the bottom of it. I suspect it is not a one-man show.

    This is a legit site for filing complaints about internet-related frauds. It is a joing venture between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). If enough of us file, the information could be used to take these guys down. Take the 10 minutes to fill out the form, I did, and I feel better already 🙂

  24. I just got the same myspace crap. Since I just created my profile there and just had my photo up, how the hell could anyone find it likable is beyond me.
    I’m going to email this ‘Kristen’ and ask for some nude photos and see what the automated responce gives me. Retardes.

  28. Okay I got a very similar email but I already deleted it. It does look like its evolving however the email changes very little from version to version.

    I would say complaining to that org because we haven’t really lost any money or at least I hope most of us haven’t.

    1. Google Bombing. Have her inside site past the age verification listed first page on google because who pays for what they already have.

    2. Report dns?? I would think you could report suspicious credit card activity and it would be something they would look at problem is the aim id was kriskat225 and email md100001@yahoo so I imagine theres 224 aims before that and an assload of emails any of which could be used to register a free domain.

    Also I thought it was kinda suspicious to begin with because I had litterally made my profile active no more than 3 hours before. No pic or anything just text

She looked too good to be true! So I googled, and thank GOD found your site!! Just posting this comment, so that ppl do know that its a BIG SCAM!!

Can I be really SO lucky that a former wife on an Angolian warlord was able to seek me out of 60 million profiles on My Space, the answer is “I DON”T THINK SO!!!” Any of you guys want to write back and test the waters for me and tell me how it all worked out?     This was an amazing scam, not only had she created friends whos network was all local (vancouver). Other than the fact that a welder had 250k as salary, and other things… I gotta say her generic msg actually fit what I had said. I got the “Hi long ! Hey you found me! I was a little worried you
    wouldn’t be able to :P” variation which fit since i didnt respond for two weeks, lol.

    Anyways, thought. They may have some decent connections, because I live in Burnaby, but I had never specified in my portfolio that I lived even remotely nearby, I listed a city 12 hours away in the same province. Just a thought. I’ll think about spreading some news around here.

  39. I posted the email that I received on here on march 5th. I decided to report the person to the website moderators and they removed that persons account. Then what do you know a few days later I get an email from someone in the same location as the other one except this time its from ‘Kristen’. The email is below – pretty much the standard stuff. I presume its the same person so i suppose you have to admire her persistance.

Quite funny actaully.. first hint was the no pic on the myspace message, then the name was different.. it was from “hannah” but her site said “jessica norris”! Checked out her address and ended here!!!
    Scam scams scams… if anything its a good one as there are lots of people chatting about it!

  49. It’s March 13 and this chick Kristen duped me too…I signed on this am at 8 and had no emails, but @ 8:30 I had one from her. I responded and got an email back right away (same message about being @ work) Naivley, I responded to all her questions and am still awaiting her response. While waiting, I googled her aim name Kriskat225, and got this…WOW!!! fyi: kriskat225 hasnt been online all day-but fortunatley, I got 2 see her nudie pics 4 free…I dunno-her “nether-region” looks like it went 12 rounds with Tyson..ugggg..nice bod-though! I can already see this page getting bigger and bigger as the days go on. Im gonna toy with this and see what damage I can do to her…dont know what, but oh well…good luck everyone!!! too funny…
